I trained as a counsellor in 1993 after initially working with The Samaritans. In 1996 I became Director of Network Counselling and Training in Bristol
My counselling basis is person centred and transpersonal approaches. I have undertaken a wide variety of training including Solutions Focused Therapy and Supervision Skills
I have taught counselling skills for a number of agencies including Birmingham City University, Hereford Hospital Trust, Network Counselling and Newman College.
I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT and a Diploma in Mindfulness Training
I hold a BA in Theology (Manchester) and an MA in Pastoral Theology (Anglia Ruskin)
I also work as a volunteer counsellor for The Well Counselling in Malvern.

I am an accredited counsellor with the National Counselling Society. As such, I am bound by the ethical framework of NCS and its complaints procedures.

All my counselling is professionally supervised, i.e. I will discuss your case with my professional supervisor but your anonymity will be maintained throughout.

  • All sessions will be conducted in the strictest confidence but there are a few occasions when the boundaries of confidentiality may be extended. These will be fully explained BEFORE we begin to work together but are primarily when:

you consent to the confidentially being extended, for example if you would like me to be in touch with another individual or agency who is supporting you.

  • I am required to make a disclosure, by the law or the ethical practice conventions of my professional body.

In such situations I would always endeavour to discuss any disclosure with you first.
